This Fish Bottle opener is made by first hammered out the body, then the eye, mouth, fins and gills are made using variously shaped punches created for the task. Scales are hammered in by hand and the tail section is made by punching a hole before shaping and finishing.
Each product is finished with a traditional mix of linseed oil and beeswax. Applied hot it burns on to the surface giving a slightly darker finish to the metal without obscuring any of the hammer marks like modern paints or finishes would.
Because of the nature of my work and the materials used there will be slight variations between products as no two are ever completely the same.
