Forged from solid steel, these tongs will survive heavy use and very high heat. unlike other wood grabbing tongs they have no spring or flexible section that will eventually break and succumb to metal fatigue, these heavy duty tools are deigned to be used and will last for generations.
The jaws can opened wide enough to lift large logs, the pointed prongs dig in and grab the wood, allowing it to be repositioned within the fire or dragged in to the required position.
The handle section is lightly textured to give a nice comfortable and secure grip.
Approximately 27.5 inch / 70 cm long, keeping you clean and safe while still allowing good fire management. A larger version more suitable for very large fireplaces or fire pits is also available, please look at my other listings for more information.
Each product is finished with a traditional mix of linseed oil and beeswax. Applied hot it burns on to the surface giving a slightly darker finish to the metal without obscuring any of the hammer marks like modern paints or finishes would.
Because of the nature of my work and the materials used there will be slight variations between products as no two are ever completely the same.
